Experience
- Acted as junior counsel in an arbitration concerning a Mobile Offshore Production Unit (MOPU), involving claims for breach of contract and negligence.
- Acted as junior counsel before the High Court and Court of Appeal in an application for a stay of proceedings pending reference to arbitration, arising from a dispute between a main contractor and subcontractor in relation to works for a petrochemical refinery.
- Successfully defended a main contractor against an adjudication claim brought by a subcontractor for payment for works carried out pursuant to a variation order in connection with a highway project.
- Acted as junior counsel before the Court of Appeal in defending an appeal against the High Court’s dismissal of a subcontractor’s claim for payment pursuant to Section 30 of the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 against the employer.
- Acted as junior counsel in an arbitration defending the employer against the main contractor’s claim for wrongful imposition of Liquidated Ascertained Damages in relation to the construction of a water drainage system.
- Successfully claimed for prolongation costs and increases in material prices in an arbitration against the employer in relation to a superstructure project.
- Acted as junior counsel before the High Court for an employer in an action seeking damages arising from losses suffered as a result of increases in material prices following the unilateral determination of a subcontract by a nominated subcontractor.
